Costs Of Snow Removal Are Rising

The costs are still piling up and the bills are still coming in for snow removal from the last storm.

While the total hasn’t been reached yet, officials so far say the figures are in the millions of dollars.

Following the dumping of up to almost a foot and a half of snow, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), counties, municipalities and others were out in full force trying to keep up with blowing and drifting conditions and make roadways passable.

From Dec. 31 through Jan. 9, $994,821 was spent for labor, equipment and materials in Defiance, Paulding and Putnam counties alone for snow cleanup.
