Covid Spikes

After a brief lull, COVID-19… flares up again in Williams County. For the past two weeks the county has led the state of Ohio in number of COVID cases per capita, with 413 new cases, or the equivalent of 1,125 new cases per 100,000 population. That’s more than any other county in Ohio and double the statewide rate of 538 cases per 100,000. Williams County’s fully vaccinated rate is 40.9%, which is less than the statewide rate of 52.73% and significantly less than the national rate of 60%. On Tuesday, the hospital in Bryan had 15 patients in its dedicated COVID unit, which is nearing its capacity of 17. Four of the 15 are on ventilators, signaling that they are in the most serious condition. 13 of the 15?…unvaccinated.
