Crash In DKC

A Waterloo man and woman are taken to an area hospital after hitting a pole on County Road 19 in DeKalb County. Brandon Carpenter, told deputies he was driving north when he saw a vehicle in front of him starting to lose control. Carpenter says he slowed down to try and give the other vehicle more room…but instead, he ends up losing control of his vehicle from the ice on the road and hits the pole. Carpenter has head and back pain. His passenger, 19-year-old Ashley Littleton, was taken to the hospital complaining of pain as well. The crash is under investigation.
