Dakota Access pipeline demonstration held at the Swanton post of the Ohio Highway Patrol

Protesters held a demonstration against the Dakota Access pipeline yesterday at the Swanton post of the Ohio Highway Patrol. Members of the Northwest Ohio Peace Coalition said they want the 37 Ohio Highway Patrol troopers providing security in North Dakota to return from their assignment. Local organizers called the pipeline an “unethical and unconstitutional violation of Native American people’s right to protect their water and their sacred burial lands.” The peaceful protest was held between 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the post.
