DC to hold Military and Veterans Appreciation Day

Defi­ance Col­lege will hold a Mil­i­tary and Vet­er­ans Appre­ci­a­tion Day on Sat­ur­day, Oct. 10, at the DC-Manchester foot­ball game. All area vet­er­ans are wel­come and will be admit­ted to the game free with their mil­i­tary ID. Kick-off is at 1:30 p.m. The school is also accept­ing care pack­age dona­tions for cur­rent U.S. troops sta­tioned over­seas. Items for the care pack­ages will be col­lected at the sta­dium gates on Oct. 10. Dona­tions can also be dropped off through­out the week in the ath­letic offices located in the Weaner Cen­ter on Web­ster Street. There will be sta­tions avail­able at the game for those who wish to write hand­writ­ten let­ters or test their mil­i­tary strength. Army and Marine recruiters and VFWrep­re­sen­ta­tives will be in attendance.
