Deadly Crash In Van Wert

Two people are dead and one badly hurt after a crash in Van Wert, at the intersection of Liberty Union Road at Van Wert Willshire Road. Officials say Eric Mwaba, of Lexington, Kentucky, failed to stop. Mwaba’s car then crashed into an eastbound SUV, driven by Cynthia Schumm of Van Wert. Medics airlifted Mwaba to the hospital, he later died. A passenger in his vehicle was also killed. Medics rushed Schumm to a local hospital for serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
