Death of a Napoleon Native Being Treated As Homicide

According to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, the death of a Napoleon native now is being treated as a homicide.

22 year old Austin Carr died July 20 after suffering injuries in a 2011 assault in Sandusky.

Austin was first treated, following the assault, for a closed head wound and a broken orbital socket, along with other injuries.

According to The Bryan Times, his mother reports that he took narcotics to relieve pain, and a toxicology report was issued to determine whether or not he had accidentally overdosed

Now, the Lucas County Coroner’s Office released a Jan. 13 report that labeled the cause of Austin’s death as complications caused due to blunt force trauma to the head. Based on its findings in correlation with the information it received on the assault case, the Lucas County Coroner’s Office says it has now termed the death a homicide.
