Defiance city and county officials working together for bike path

Defiance wants a bike path to Independence Dam State Park. This week, the county and city are teaming up to let the Ohio Department of Transportation know their plans. If ODOT is interested, then officials will apply for federal grants to pay for the path. According to the county engineer, the feds will pay for about 95% of the cost, with the local governments paying the remaining five percent. The cost for the new bike path is roughly estimated up to one million dollars for a four-mile patch from Clinton Street to the state park entrance.
