A Defiance County commissioner will be stepping down soon. David Kern, who began his second, four-year term this year, submitted a letter of resignation Monday to the Defiance County Board of Elections announcing his decision. Because Kern is a Republican, the county’s Republican Party will be tasked with finding a replacement for him to serve at least part of his unexpired term.
