Defiance County commissioners discuss possibilities for a grant to improve inclusion for all.

The Defiance County commissioners discuss possibilities for a grant to improve inclusion for all, as well as a possible issue with the upcoming Hot Air Balloon Festival. They met with the County Board of Developmental Disabilities to discuss plans for a grant. They would like to incorporate ways to make community events more inclusive, including use of a mobile universal changing table station and providing tickets to local events to those with disabilities who might not otherwise be able to afford to attend. Grants could also be made available to businesses to help them install universal changing tables in their buildings. There was also discussion on using part of the grant to create a bocce ball court at Latty’s Grove that would be accessible for all members of the public.
