Defiance man facing multiple traffic charges

A Defiance man led troopers on a brief chase Monday afternoon. The pursuit ended in a collision. 22 year old Ulises Chagoyan was charged with felonious assault and felony fleeing and eluding. According to troopers of the Defiance post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, at approximately 5 p.m., a 2015 Dodge Charger was observed traveling eastbound on U.S. 24 in Paulding County at 84 mph in the posted 65 mph zone. As the suspect attempted to re-enter eastbound U.S. 24, he struck a marked patrol car driven by a trooper assigned to the Defiance post. Chagoyan was taken into custody. Chagoyan and the trooper were taken by the Defiance Fire Department to ProMedica Defiance Regional Medical Center.
