Defiance man injured in accidental shooting early Saturday

A Defiance man was injured in accidental shooting early Saturday. According to the Defiance County Sheriff’s’s Office, 21 year old Matthew Lawson of Ralston Ave., accidentally shot himself in the leg with a firearm at around 4:30 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 1500 block of Mustang Drive in Noble Township. He was taken by the Defiance Fire Department to ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital before being flown to Toledo Hospital with a non-life threatening injury, according to a sheriff’s deputy. Lawson was listed in “critical” but stable condition Saturday night. No charges were filed.
