Defiance Mayor Mike McCann is asking city parks board members to join him in a plan to remove the Bronson Pool, which has been closed for years, and keep the bathhouses and pump building in hopes of being able to use them in the future. The project got an original estimate of $70,000 to remove the pool and deck. McCann told the board members that fill dirt from an upcoming water line project on Elliott Road could be used to fill in the hole where the pool is. The Parks board chairman Mark Hall said Friday that the board is in agreement with the initiative. McCann indicated hope for finding money for the pool’s removal this year, depending upon the cost.
