DeKalb County deputies respond to a crash involving a motorcycle and a deer. Officials tell reporters a 48-year-old Spencerville man was westbound in the 4100 block of County Road 68 when a deer ran into the roadway. The motorcyclist hit the deer, causing him to go off the roadway and thrown from his bike. The victim was not wearing a helmet, they add. Medics take him to an area hospital with a laceration to the head. State and local officials are handling the post-crash investigation.
