During his annual state of the state address, Gov. Mike DeWine’s focus was on Ohio’s children. “The single most important thing we can do for Ohio’s future is to ensure all Ohio children have the opportunity to live up to their full God-given potential,” DeWine said. DeWine focused his speech on the education and health of children, listing some new proposed programs, expansion of others and urging leaders throughout the state to adopt new policies. DeWine called on the state’s colleges and universities to pick up where Ohio’s public schools have gone in the area of Science of Reading, and literacy education.
