The Williams County Sheriff’s department reminds drivers that the nationwide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign is in full effect, and it is being enforced locally too. The heightened enforcement period began on August 21st and it runs through Monday, August 31st. Grant money from the Department of Public Safety has provided the sheriff’s department with additional funding to put extra deputies on patrol looking specifically for impaired drivers. The sheriff reminds everyone that drivers should drink responsibly and also that “Buzzed driving is drunk driving.” A zero tolerance stance is being taken during the enforcement period.
