The area gets a boost in the opioid addiction fight. Sen. Rob Portman announces the The Four County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services got $285,000 through the 21st Century Cures Act. Williams, Fulton, Defiance and Henry counties get the funds for improving prescription drug monitoring programs, prevention, training for health care workers, and improving access to treatment for individuals struggling with substance abuse. More than 8,000 residents of Defiance, Fulton, Henry and Williams counties received some type of mental health or alcohol and drug use services that were funded by the board in 2017.
