Edgar P. “Paul” Daugherty, age 91, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Inns at Fountain Park where he had been a resident. Mr. Daugherty was a member of First Baptist Church in Bryan. He was a graduate of Farmer High School and was a World War II veteran serving in the Merchant Marine and the US Army. Paul was a lifelong farmer and devoted John Deere man. He was a member of the First Baptist church in Bryan and the Farmer American Legion.
Edgar P. Daugherty was born July 8, 1924, in Arthur, Illinois, the son of Lee and Flonnie (Stigall) Daugherty. He married Mildred E. (Etchey) Porath on May 7, 1971 in Coldwater, Michigan, and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2014. Paul is survived by his children, Sherri Green, of Bryan and Stanton Daugherty, of Armonk, New York; step children, Linda (Dean) Caryer, of Sherwood, Lynn “Ed” (Marcia) Porath, of Sherwood, Sheri (John) McCoy, of Defiance; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Gene “Bill” (Sandy) Daugherty, of Bryan and sister, Creta Bennett, of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mildred E. Daugherty; daughter, Cynthia Clifton; stepdaughter, Sally Rast and brother, Edwin Daugherty.
Funeral services for Edgar P. “Paul” Daugherty will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in the First Baptist Church with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating. Burial will follow at Farmer Cemetery where graveside military rites will be presented by the Farmer American Legion. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at First Baptist Church and again on Tuesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio has been entrusted with the arrangements.
