A family of 6 is okay after they escape a house fire at US 6 west home, near Corunna. Witnesses say the building was a good distance back off of the highway. Flames could be seen a mile away. One child suffered from smoke inhalation but is in fair condition. The family’s home is a complete loss. The Red Cross was called in to assist. Crews from Corunna, Garrett, Waterloo and Hudson responded. It took 45 minutes to get the flames under control. An investigation is underway at this hour.
