Fatal Accident Near Defiance

A Bryan man is involved in a deadly crash, just west of Defiance. Officials tell reporters Joshua Shaffer was northbound in a van on Ashpacher Road, in Noble Township, when he failed to yield at Ohio 18. Westbound on 18 on a motorcycle was Gerald Seibert, 67, of Sherwood. Seibert hit Shaffer’s vehicle as it entered the intersection. Seibert was pronounced dead at the scene. Shaffer is unhurt. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the incident. State and local investigators are on the case at this hour.
