Fatal Crash In DKC

Officials in DeKalb County are still investigating a crash that claimed the life of an Ashley man. Officials tell reporters…60-year-old Michael Lesher was pronounced dead at the scene following the accident on County Road 48. Upon arrival, first units on the scene determined that Lesher was traveling west bound and then left the north side of the roadway…then through a field…smashing into a tree. Life-saving efforts were made by emergency responders, but were unsuccessful. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident. Investigators think the driver had a medical event which may have led to the crash. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Parkview DeKalb, Auburn Fire, Noels Towing Service, and the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office.
