The final two days of deer-gun hunting season saw 9,447 white-tailed dear checking on December 28 and 29th, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The last time Ohio had a year-end deer hunting season was three years ago, and nearly five thousand more deer were harvested then.
Hunters who use muzzleloaders are set for January 9th through the 12th, then archery season remains open through February 7th.
