On Monday, the mayor of Findlay, Lydia Mihalik, gave her annual state of the city address.
Mayor Mihalik yesterday, touted the progress of the last year and the bright future of 2014.
She said the city is nearing the final leg of the marathon to flood mitigation. The mayor said the project is 75% done.
In a city prone to flooding, such as Findlay, that’s welcome news.
Every time the Blanchard River floods, the cost is devastating to homeowners and the local economy.
A big priority this year for Findlay, according to the mayor, is economic development and job creation.
Mayor Mihalik says the city added more than 500 new jobs last year.
