FIRE IN DEFIANCE

Numer­ous Defi­ance County fire depart­ments responded to a house fire west of Defi­ance on Tues­day evening.

At first, the Noble Fire Depart­ment was called to the Harry But­ter­more res­i­dence on Ash­pacher Road, just before 6pm. Other area fire crews were then called in to assist.

The home was reported to be a total loss. There were no reports of injury from the fire, but ini­tial reports say that the Defi­ance office of the Amer­i­can Red Cross was called in to pro­vide assis­tance to the fam­ily.

No cause has been listed yet, and the fire remains under inves­ti­ga­tion today.
