Numerous Defiance County fire departments responded to a house fire west of Defiance on Tuesday evening.
At first, the Noble Fire Department was called to the Harry Buttermore residence on Ashpacher Road, just before 6pm. Other area fire crews were then called in to assist.
The home was reported to be a total loss. There were no reports of injury from the fire, but initial reports say that the Defiance office of the American Red Cross was called in to provide assistance to the family.
No cause has been listed yet, and the fire remains under investigation today.
