First Sauder Lecture This Evening

Sauder Vil­lage in Arch­bold is host­ing a free Agri­cul­tural Lec­ture Series at the Her­itage Inn.

The first lec­ture of the sea­son is sched­uled for 7:30 this evening, and is enti­tled “The Dawn of the Golden Age of Agri­cul­ture — Early 20th Cen­tury Farm­ing in the Heart­land.“

The pro­gram is free and open to the pub­lic. A sec­ond lec­ture will be held on Octo­ber 6th.

Today’s pro­gram will be about the social, tech­no­log­i­cal, polit­i­cal and eco­nomic changes of the 1920s and how these impacted farm­ing.

On Oct. 6, the lec­ture will be “The Vacant Chair on the Farm: Under­stand­ing Mar­riage, Farm Man­age­ment, and Sol­dier­ing in the Mid­west dur­ing the Amer­i­can Civil War.” That too, is going to be free and open to the public.
