Freemont Man Headed To Prison

A Fre­mont man will spend 10 years of a 20 year sen­tence behind bars, fol­low­ing his sen­tenc­ing on Mon­day in Steuben Supe­rior Court. 23 year old Jere­miah Bates entered a guilty plea to a Level 2 felony of Deal­ing Metham­phet­a­mine. Bates was also placed on pro­ba­tion for five years and was given credit for 151 days already served in jail. He was one of two men who were arrested back in April fol­low­ing an under­cover inves­ti­ga­tion.
Bates and 28-year-old Christo­pher Hen­kle were both accused of allegedly sell­ing meth to a con­fi­den­tial infor­mant last Decem­ber. Hen­kle is sched­uled to go on trial Octo­ber 29th.
