Fremont man found guilty of being an habitual offender

A Steuben County Superior Court jury found Paul Kage, Jr. of Fremont guilty of a Level 5 felony for Operating a Motor Vehicle After a Lifetime Suspension and of being an Habitual Offender. After the twelve-person jury found Kage guilty of the Level 5 felony, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Travis Musser presented evidence that Kage also had four prior felony convictions, including: Operating Vehicle After a Lifetime Suspension in 2011; Resisting Law Enforcement by Using a Vehicle in 2008; Theft in 2006; and Intimidation of a Law Enforcement Officer in 2005. With the habitual offender enhancement, Kage now faces up to 12 years in prison. A sentencing date has been set for October 17.
