Fremont man was sentenced to four years behind bars for causing the death of a Kendallville man

A Fremont man was sentenced to four years behind bars for causing the death of a Kendallville man, by drinking and driving, during a hearing this week in DeKalb Superior Court. Noe Munoz-Rubio of Fremont pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death as part of a plea agreement. Munoz-Rubio was sentenced to five years of incarceration, with four years to serve and one year suspended. Christopher J. Hatch of Kendallville, died in the crash on State Road 4, west of Hudson, back in August of 2014. Hatch was traveling as a passenger with Munoz-Rubio. He was ejected from a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Hatch was 24 when he died.
