Fulton County commissioners vote to oppose large solar project near Fayette.

Fulton County commissioners voted to oppose a large solar project near Fayette during a recent meeting, but this did not stop a state agency from approving the project. Commissioners’ 3-0 vote on the Ritter Station project in Gorham Township was followed some days later by the Ohio Power Siting Board’s decision to approve an application from Repsol Renewables for a 199-megawatt facility. The vote was 7-2. Capacity-wise, the solar farm would be the largest one in the Defiance six-county area, utilizing approximately 1,700 acres.
