Gas prices this morning at $1.44 a gallon, at the Valero on S. Union St. That’s almost 10 cents lower than the state average of $1.55. and about 84 cents cheaper than this time a year ago. Analysts are saying that now is the time when refineries are trying to use up their winter blend, do maintenance, then switch to the summer blend, so expect prices to begin to go back up.
