Girl Scouts Want Napoleon Dog Park

A park in Napoleon may soon be going to the dogs.

The Crescent News reports that the Napoleon parks and recreation board has approved a recommendation for the planning and construction of a dog park.

Representatives of the Girls Scouts of Western Ohio and Napoleon have proposed that a dog park be built at East Riverdowns Park in Napoleon.

The Girl Scouts would like to see the park measure 100-feet by 280-feet with a 5-foot high fence and a double-gated, lockable entry, with a card-swipe or key fob entry system. Those who would like to use the park, according to the proposal before the board, would be required to register their dog and provide documentation of licensing and vaccination before being issued a key or card to the park.

The Girl Scouts have received a grant and plan to use it and private donations to fund the project.
