Horses Die In Fire

Thirty-five horses are now confirmed dead following a barn fire in Branch County, Michigan last weekend.

The fire started Saturday around mid-day at a barn owned by Nathan Baker of Angola. The horses that died in the fire were reportedly owned by an Amish family.

Firefighters say it appears that an electrical problem lead to the blaze, but the cause is still not official and is still under investigation.

An investigator from the Fire Marshal’s office is expected to be on-site Wednesday for a closer look.
