Republican legislative leaders are considering steps addressing high health care costs in Indiana during the General Assembly’s 2020 session, an issue one top lawmaker is calling an economic development problem. Indiana currently ranks highest in prices paid to hospitals by private health insurance plans. Last month, the Trump administration announced a transparency rule that requires hospitals to publish their standard prices online, including negotiated rates for insurers.
