Health Dept. looking to test water in Platter Creek for E.coli

The Health Department in Defiance County is looking for the source of E.coli in Platter Creek, north of Mark Center. Officials said late last week that because of the lack of voluntary testing, they’re going to have to test the water themselves. If the area is determined to be tainted, they can declare the area a public nuisance and turn it over to the EPA, which would then determine what needs to be done to fix the contamination problem.
