Heroin Dealer Sentenced in Defiance

A local man was sen­tenced in Defi­ance Com­mon Pleas Court to 10 years in prison for sell­ing heroin. 34 year-old Avion Franklin of Har­ri­son Avenue found guilty of three counts by Judge Joseph Schmenk. Pros­e­cu­tors say heroin has become epi­demic in the area and Franklin was one of the rea­sons. He had pre­vi­ous con­vic­tions for pos­ses­sion of cocaine, crack cocaine, and domes­tic bat­tery and endan­ger­ing children.
