Hicksville Council discusses existing animal law.

After failing to enact significant amendments to an existing animal law last month, the Hicksville Village Council convened on Monday night and heard more from a local chicken owner.  The proposed code would have made it simpler for locals to maintain a certain number of chickens, among other animals other than dogs and cats, by establishing new criteria for animal care. The matter died and the current ordinance remained in effect after a motion to enact it failed to receive a second.
