After failing to enact significant amendments to an existing animal law last month, the Hicksville Village Council convened on Monday night and heard more from a local chicken owner. The proposed code would have made it simpler for locals to maintain a certain number of chickens, among other animals other than dogs and cats, by establishing new criteria for animal care. The matter died and the current ordinance remained in effect after a motion to enact it failed to receive a second.
