The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 12 people lost their lives in 12 separate crashes during the July Fourth reporting period. That’s an increase from last year during that time, when there were a total of four fatal crashes that killed eight people. Troopers made 709 arrests for impaired driving and 507 for drug-related charge, this year. In all, the patrol responded to 809 crashes and made more than 55,000 traffic contacts.
