Former Republican state representative, Jim Hoops, places his name in consideration to replace Rob McColley in Ohio’s 81st District. He joins Leipsic Village Administrator, Justin Barnhart in seeking the position. Hoops previously served as a state representative from 1999-2006, when the district included Henry, Putnam, Van Wert, Paulding and some of Defiance counties. Now, it represents Williams, Henry and Paulding counties and some of Fulton County. Since losing a senate race in 2006, Hoops has served as associate president of finance at American Municipal Power and as associate vice president for strategic initiatives at Northwest State Community College.
