Steuben County deputies are getting the word out on a phone scam in the area. If you get a call from the “Magistrate’s Office”… asking for personal identifying information….hang up. Never give out personal information in cases like that, officials warn. Besides…county officials assure…if the “Magistrate” wants a word with you…you won’t be getting a phone call. That one goes in your mailbox.
