Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash

The Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash as a result of a wheel separating from a pickup truck and striking a vehicle traveling the opposite direction. Just after 10 a.m. Monday morning, emergency crews responded to a series crash on I-465 southbound just south of I-74 on the east side. Upon arrival first responders found 43 year old Crystal Emerick of Angola, Indiana unconscious in the driver’s seat of an SUV. A passenger in that vehicle was also injured, however she was conscious and alert, three back seat passengers were not injured. Emerick was transported to Eskenazi Hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.
