Injury Accident In NWT

An Angola man is hurt badly in a two-vehicle crash in Northwest Township, on County Road 1.50. Officials tell reporters Hugh Skiles, 91, was southbound…while a Jeep, driven by Jennifer Horne of Edon, was heading northbound. Investigators say Skiles’ car traveled left of center while negotiating a curve and collided head-on into Horne’s Jeep. Skiles was removed from his vehicle using mechanical extrication equipment by fire and rescue personnel on scene. He was flown to Parkview in Fort Wayne, with critical injuries. Troopers found he was not wearing his seat belt during the crash. Horne was taken to a hospital in Bryan, where she was treated for minor injuries and released a short time later. The crash remains under investigation.
