The Wauseon Public Works Department will begin city-wide leaf pick up on Oct. 31. The north side of town will be picked up the first and third week of the month. The south side will be collected the second and fourth week of the month. The city also offered more information on the pick-up. Brush will not be collected during leaf pick-up season. Do not place leaves on top of brush. City crews cannot pick up leaves that have been mixed with brush or other items. Please rake your leaves to the curb. Do not put them in the street, Leaves plug up the storm sewers which can cause flooding. Leaves can also be dropped off anytime at the Public Works Garage located on Cole Street. The leaves may be dumped in the compost pit along with flowers and garden waste. Please do not bring brush or shrubs. The compost pit is located on the back drive off of Linfoot Street.
