Jack Goshia, 86

John H. “Jack” Goshia, age 86, of Naples, Florida, and a longtime resident of Bryan, Ohio, died at 10:03 A.M. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Avow Hospice in Naples, where he was a patient. Mr. Goshia was a 1947 graduate of Defiance, Ohio, High School and served in the Korean Conflict as a Master Sergeant in the Army. He was the owner of Orchard Hills Flowers from 1956 until his retirement in 1994. Jack was active with the Boy Scouts, serving at the district level; was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan, where he was past president of the Church Council, Sunday School Superintendent, and a choir member; attended Shepherd of the Glades Lutheran Church in Naples; was a longtime member, past president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Bryan Rotary Club; and was a member of Orchard Hills Country Club, Bryan American Legion Post #284 and Bryan VFW Post #2489.

John H. “Jack” Goshia was born on February 28, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Albert H. and Emma V. (Seyboldt) Goshia. He married Arlene L. Behnfeldt on December 23, 1951, in Sherwood, Ohio, and she survives.

Also surviving are one son, John C. “Cort” (Reva) Goshia, of Bryan; one daughter, Kim (Sam) Swisher, of Bryan; one granddaughter, Leslie Goshia; two grandsons, Jeremy (Amber) Donnell and Zach Swisher; and three great-grandchildren, Evelyn Swisher and Kayln & Elaina Donnell. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, James Quinton Goshia, in 1969, two brothers, Herman and Robert Goshia, and one sister, Rosemary Croci.

Service arrangements are pending with Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.

Memorials are requested to Trinity Lutheran Church or to Avow Hospice of Naples.
