M. Kathryn Heisler, age 94, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 9:45 A.M. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Genesis Heath Care in Bryan, where she was a resident. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church near Edgerton, Ohio, where she was active in the Ladies Aid Society and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and taught Sunday School for many years. She was the first female school bus driver for the Farmer School district and was very active at the Bryan Senior Center.
Born October 31, 1918, in Defiance County, Ohio, she was the daughter of Harry and Laura (Blosser) Lee. On February 1, 1938, she married Russell H. Heisler and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2003. Kathryn is survived by her special companion, Cletus Mavis; daughters, Janet (Carl) Vollmer, of Edgerton, Ohio, and Brenda (John) Goller, of Chino Hills, California; six grandchildren, Tammy (Shane) Sumner, of Edon, Clair Vollmer, of Edgerton, Laura (Ryan) Grube, of Tipp City, Ohio, Trevor (Nicole) Goller, of Pasadena, California, Matt Goller, of Chino Hills, California, and Taryn (Kristopher) Gerke, of Corona, California; eleven great- grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Karen Russell; son, Rex Heisler; brother, Kenneth Lee, and sister, Arlene Peter.
Service for M. Kathryn Heisler will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Kurt Letcher officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 2, 2013, and one hour prior to the service at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday, from 10:00-11:00 A.M.
