Marilyn LaPlante, 74

Marilyn Alice LaPlante of Brenham, Texas, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 in Brenham. Marilyn was born on September 21, 1938 to Erma (Schwab) and Donald Titus Pile of Toledo, Ohio. She attended Sylvania High School and after attending Bowling Green State University in Ohio, went on to obtain her Master’s Degree from Indiana University . She married Roger LaPlante in 1962 and lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for many years. After moving back to Ohio, she worked as a bookkeeper for Liechty Farm Equipment, an agriculture equipment sales company. As an active member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Archbold, Ohio, she was a church organist and choir accompanist. Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed Bible Study, Ladies’ Circle, attending and occasionally teaching Sunday School and Sewing. As an associate member of St. Paul ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas she also enjoyed Bible Study and the Ladies’ Circle. She will be greatly missed in both communities.

Surviving family includes her husband Roger LaPlante of Brenham, Texas; daughter, Patricia (Jon) Dennis of Salado, Texas; two sons, Steve LaPlante of Brenham, Texas and Jeff (Tammy) LaPlante of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Brett LaPlante, Marc LaPlante and Rosemary Dennis as well as her brother, Fredrick (Marcia) Pile of Maumee, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held in St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Archbold, Ohio on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.

Marilyn will be interred at Archbold Cemetery in Ohio during a private ceremony.
