Kimpling In Court

P.A.T.H. founder, Bonnie Kimpling returned to Bryan Wednesday for a three-day jury trial. She is accused of theft and possession of criminal tools. In her opening argument, Williams County Prosecutor, Katie Zartman accused Kimpling of misappropriating $150 thousand dollars from the school between January 2012 and December 2017. Zartman says Kimpling had an account her own board of directors did not know about…and used that to funnel funds from the Ohio Department of Education’s Autism Scholarship Program. The school closed in December 2017 after Bryan police responded to a tip…reporting a theft and executed a search warrant. They seized four laptop computers and a desktop computer. That’s where much of the prosecution’s evidence is based on. Zartman added…additional bank records for Kimpling’s personal checking and saving accounts linked withdrawals from the Academy account to purchases for sports memorabilia on PayPal and Amazon…hotel accommodations…and a time share condo. The trial continues today.
