KVille Shooter Caught

An arrest is made…in connection to that deadly shooting we reported on in Kendallville over the weekend. 24-year-old Matthew Rodriguez…accused of shooting three customers at the Gallops station in town. Justin Smead, of Rome City, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others, Alyssa Jeffries and Blake Lewis, are taken an area hospital in critical yet stable condition. At a rest stop just outside Athens…a trooper comes across the red Kia Forte, listed as a suspect vehicle. Rodriguez realizes what’s happening…barricades himself in the bathroom. A SWAT team and a negotiator are called out. Two hours later, Rodriguez surrenders…now at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville, Ohio. Kendallville Police are working to extradite him back to Indiana to face charges.
