Laser Has Trial Set

Scott Laser, the Montpelier man accused of abducting a girl from Michigan and providing her with drugs, is scheduled to stand trial in March. Authorities say Laser took a 14-year-old girl on Nov. 23 and held her at his home on Monroe Street in Montpelier overnight against her will. They say he also solicited a different girl, age 13, for sex in 2017. Laser was arrested Dec. 7 and charged with methamphetamine possession and a list of kidnapping and sex related charges. He pled not guilty to all counts. He remains behind bars at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
