The unemployment rate for Williams County in July was 5.1 percent, an increase from 4.6 in June. The number is also up from 4.7 percent in both July 2015 and July 2016. The rate is the county’s highest since it was 5.1 percent in January and February 2017, before it fell substantially to a low of 3.9 in April. Around 18,000 of Williams County’s estimated 19,000-person workforce were employed in July.
