Ohio parents are likely to get some financial assistance as legislators look to renew a three-day window for tax-free purchases of school supplies with a measure currently working its way through both the House and Senate. While the range of items covered in the new proposal is unclear, it figures to be similar to last year’s measure, which covered school supplies and instructional materials up to $20 and clothing items up to $75. Applicable items included things like pencils, paper, pants and jackets — all free of both state and county taxes. The break applied to all Ohio stores.
